I went to BKPJ (Bukit Panjang) today via train as I had to take a train to RP (Raffles Place) and it was a horrible decision/experience. Actually the MRT train ride wasn't that bad, it was the LRT (light rapid transit) trip from CCK (Chao Chu Kang) to BKPJ that was maddening. The LRT was so so so squeezy and then the track is so curvy that I was struggling for my balance at every turn, stop and go. Idiot place! I think I will take the bus there in the future.
My business has been getting better after I got on the newspaper, but the bad part is the big game distributors may decide to clamp down on rental of games. I don't get the logic there, do they think gamers will buy more games just because there aren't any rentals anymore? Why don't they just cut out the retailers and sell direct, maybe it will sell more? Plus, the root of the problem isn't cured yet: piracy. The recent news article cited that 36% of all software used last year in Singapore are pirated. That's alot, isn't it? Rather than let people turn to piracy for their cheap gaming, I think rentals will help to deter them abit, and give some life to the lesser wanted games. Many gamers buy such games on the 2nd hand market anyway, wnile the better games are still eventually bought and kept, like WE09. MGS4, and I forsee FFXIII will be such a game as well.
I guess I just have to take one step at a time. My fallback solution is to encourage our existing memebrs to sign up for our subcription based rental membership, somehow like Gamefly but minus off the mailing of games to and fro (it is too dangerous for the inexperienced to mail games and also there are the potential cheaters to deal with, too). Hopefully it will work out eventually.
My shop's new website is gonna be ready soon. We are about 20% completed, but if you can help me take a look at it, it will be helpful. Of course you will see somemore changes soon as it's still quite far from what we envisioned. Here's the temporary link: www.redsandsgamers.com/shop/index.php.
It's the end of May already but my "lose-weight" plan has been stuck for quite sometime. I'm currently still on the 70.X level, which is kinda like when I was in JC (and it is exactly the peak in my lifetime weight chart). I hope I will be able to drop at least 5kg in the next two months... which will be very hard as I currently lack the motivation for it... haha.
See you guys again soon..~

Konnichiwa!
Time flies and it's already May of 2009. The blog is abit quiet now but I guess given enough material and experiences, I will probably update more often.
I'm thinking about the good times spent the last few weeks like...
1st May Labour Day
------------------
Visited Shasha's home to celebrate her birthday belatedly. She fried some stuff for us, which was really tasty. She also bought us 4 boxes of pizza but we could only finish 2. I bought ice cream but I guess everyone was too full to eat. We had some fun playing the Wii which Shasha rented from me... haha. Recounting all the expenses I guess she spent quite a bomb on us! But it's really quite fun... quite nice to meet up everyone... though in my opinion, nobody has changed abit at all... physically, mentally, characterically.

3 brothers, 3 weird guys on a short relaxation trip to JB. Jinki slept on the bus during both to and fros. JK n I discussed alot of gaming stuff on the way. We were stuck on the causeway for the bulk of the "to" trip, like about an hour, because of the weird design of the old road to the new immigration complex. Nonetheless, we walked all the way sheltered to the new wing of the shopping complex (City Square). Then as we were super hungry, we decided to eat... western food (Vivo). I kinda regretted it actually after the meal but anyway it was quite cheap overall. 2 set meals, 1 pasta, 1 big pizza for us totaled RM55 only!! After that we took a cab to Holiday Plaza. I had my eyesight checked again and one eye improved, the other worsened. Made the contact lenses for RM200 again (it's the same price over the 5yrs?! shouldn't it be cheaper??!!) which is still cheaper than SG. Then we begun the hunt for the massage place (the last time we tried it at the foot reflexology place was like 4-5yrs ago) but heard it was closed. We found another health centre on the top level though, and felt it was "clean" and cool. (You could see people enjoying foot reflexology inside. I opted for the foot massage while the two of them decided on the body massage. We had our appointments made but now had 1.5hrs to waste away. The 2 guys then mentioned about going facial... which was like.. "wow". I am a regular at SR so they were thinking they should go facial regularly too. (Maybe we are at the age where we fear aging skin?) Of course I decided to do something else rather than going facial, so I went to cut my hair. Coincidentally JK's friend was also at the salon, and so I had a discount too. Spent RM68 for a haircut and hair treatment, and I was pretty satisfied with the haircut --> it was quite special to me. Their facial dragged on more than expected so we missed our appointment for the massage... aww. Luckily the next slot wasn't too far away we made the booking again and went shopping. JK and I were wondering if bro Jinki was "something wrong" as he stepped into a shop and begun to look for clothes to buy. I asked him and he said "needed a wardrobe rehash" due to "shorts going out of trend"... I just took it as it is (well, the man himself can explain in our comments box, but oh well). After that we had our massages (great work in making me feel ache all over except the feet) and then we went to eat dinner at the Taman Sri Tebrau market. REALLY COOL dinner we had. Stingray + Furong egg (why always this dish) + veg + beggar chicken + drinks only RM66!! Had a great day but we reached home quite late and I missed the yoga class.... oh well.
Keke, i will write somemore again soon.
