This $#%^&$# world is so devoid of morals that sometimes I wonder what is the point of living in this stupid world. At my father's workplace, a customer's item was reported to be missing after going up for polishing. So our hiring company's management pushed the blame to my father and we have to pay up $150 for a freaking Swissknife. WHY do we have to suffer the consequences created by some stupid freaking idiotic thief, if there was one? WHY do big companies always have to bully small companies when they earn big bucks?
This world is so f**king k**cc* ##$@%@!##$^&#!
Morals! We are all so bloody engrossed in the chase for material comfort that we have lost all our morals. Look at the number of cases of theft, rape, robberies, fraud, corruption, cheating, tainted food, and what-have-you. Do these people have any conscience at all?
Unfortunately, there are still mitigating factors for such of these cases, like extreme hunger, etc. Some people are forced to commit immoral acts, while some others have no choice because they have been threatened to.
Life sucks.

Jeffire is quite a scatterbrain.
Imagine the shock on my face to find the insurance/road tax renewal notice under a stack of paper when I was looking for some documents. The dateline was TODAY 19 JUL 2008. The fine of late renewal would amount to $50++, which is quite a lot of money.
Then I swung into action, and took the NEL down to Boon Keng station, and missed 5 buses in a row (stuck at the traffic light). Then when I caught the bus, I overshot the stop by one stop which was like 20secs on wheels but 5mins to walk.
I reached Jalan Besar Plaza and then the service clerk told me that as it was the last day, the road tax had to be renewed at the nearest NTUC Income office. That meant another rush down to Rochor Centre.
Ran up 3 flights of stairs and was relieved to see that opening hours ended at 630pm. Plenty of time left. Yet, I was made to wait for ages there despite 2 counters being free. I probably waited 15mins - 20mins till my turn. The good thing was that the service was fast.
Task settled. I then decided to make my way to PS to visit Daiso to purchase my kitchenware. The easiest and fastest route would be to take a bus from nearby Sim Lim Square to Little India station, and then just take a short ride to Dhoby Gaut. When I was reaching the bus stop, the bus arrived before I reached the boarding point. I decided not to rush for it, but the bus driver stopped a while and opened the door for another 10secs because there was the same bus in front. I STARED BLANKLY AT THE BUS and let it go.
Freak.
Next I decided to walk to PS...Probably breathed in tons of dust as I passed high traffic roads and construction sites. Sigh.
I bought what I wanted except for the fetta cheese because it was too expensive. Then I went back and met a schoolmate and former CCAmate. As I was sick and tired, I didn't really want to talk, but but but, he was alone.. So I had to converse until he reached his stop. Sigh.
Then I reached Punggol station and took the bus home (lazy to walk). You know what happened? I missed my stop because I was too engrossed replying SMSes... grrr. I reached home safely and sorted my purchases. I bought a mirror to put on my door's left wall so as to see incoming people. So far so good.
My parents returned around 30mins later and I was reprimanded for leaving the metal gate's key outside! I forgot about it after installing the mirror happily. Sigh..
All my luck must had been used up in that bout to renew the insurance and road tax.
Before ending off, let me show you Cookie Dou's new cap! So cuteee~

Byeee.

Ciao a i amici!
I had not blogged a week. Miss me? (*imagines people vomit*) Anyway, the week has been pretty fine... but didn't have any mood to really sit down and write stuff down.
Some of the key events of the week:
a. Tue - Chalet at Siloso Beach Resort
b. Wed - Transformers Movie
c. Thu - Skincare hunt, Badminton at void deck and home cook dinner
d. Fri - Dinner at Soup Restaurant (三盅两件)
e. Sat - Marine Parade dim sum and dessert
f. Sun - My brother's 21st birthday and my miserable Sunday
Last Monday, Kevin suddenly dropped an invitation to chalet at Sentosa Siloso Beach Resort. At first I was quite siansified, but curiousity and the chance for another brothers' gathering (so I heard) was a pretty tempting idea. However, my interest level dipped slightly as I received news that only 4 of us, out of the 6 7Seas Brothers, will be there. It's not that I detest meeting the brothers, it's just that we have been meeting pretty often that we seemed to have nothing much to do constructively anymore. Haha. Most importantly, WHERE ARE THE OTHER BROTHERS? But I guess they are busy with their lives. 3rd brother has some big problem in life that he is fighting valiantly to solve, but the 4th brother seems to be hiding away...with his girlfriend. Ah well, I can only extend invitations and that's all. Kevin's explanation was that it was too short a notice to ask these busy people, which I agree too. *Shrugs*
However, I was very very surprised myself that day as I exited Harbourfront station around 11pm and entered Vivocity in preparation to take the new monorail system. Do you know why? Haha, I didn't meet any brother but I met a 7Seas sister! It was Ah-Sa!(as Ah-Kai nicknamed her) She called out to me because I didn't see her. And then I told her about the chalet and she happily, on the spot, agreed to drop by! She also requested me not to tell the brothers who were already there, as a surprise visit. Haha. Great idea. Since she drove (woo), I got a ride into the island and I really thank her for that, because the way to the chalet as I found out the morning later, was pretty long. The brothers soon had the surprise, though it was not a long one. As she had to work, she wasn't able to stay for the night despite Ah-Kai trying a million excuses to persuade her. Heh. But they agreed to meet in KL or Genting if there was an opportunity as both of them are going over to the capital city of Malaysia. Ah-Kai was going to Genting to watch the MLTR (Michael Learns to Rock) concert and Ah-Sa was going to meet her friend in KL. It was a great catchup with her as the last time was the annual CNY steamboat. After the chatting, the guys were soon immersed in games, first with the regular Winning Eleven challenge, and then to the new flight simulator (which I suck at) and finally at this new game called Mortal Kombat Shao Lin. I think Charles and the army chaps will like such games. Just whack whack whack and try to get some combos done. Heh. Kudos to the gamemakers for reinventing the bloody game from a fighting game to a action game. I would love to play the game again...
The next morning I left early to go to the workshop to attend to some matters. After that, I went to AMK central with Pika and met up with Princess Pooh and PS for the movie Transformers. After hearing mixed reviews about the movie, and news that it was the top grossing movie currently, I had no qualms to watch it for $5 at AMK Jubilee. The movie was GREAT actually because the lines were witty (and the lead actor was really humorous) and the story was funny. Even though you need some fast eyes to really get the entire plot and to witness the super fast action quickly, I say the movie was well done and the story and the cast indeed deserve more attention
than the Transformer brand or tradition. There are sequels coming up and I hope it would be just as witty as well, and more logic in the fighting scenes please!
Thursday was a day of bleeding (not for me) as Pika and I caught wind of a great offer from Biotherm. And I used the opportunity to get some stuff for my mother. Heh. However, the greatest find of the week though was to come the next day but we were very satisfied with our purchases at Biotherm Tangs less the time spent to wait for our free gift set. After that I caught up with PS at Carrefour in PS (haha) and we took a 10minute groceries spree to get ready for dinner. A 35minute ride and a short walk home then began the showdown: BADMINTON! Haha. Unfortunately PS didn't like to have the attention on the badminton court from the kopithiam diners, but instead opted for the multi-storey car park void deck which had high ceilings but not really as high as normal badminton halls. However it was still fun trying to control the parabolic curves of the shuttlecock as we hit, picked, hit, picked for nearly an hour. I counted 4x bus 85 which passed by as a timing gauge because none of us were wearing watches nor carried mobiles. After the badminton session, I made a 3-dish dinner in 20minutes which included cold tofu doused in light soya sauce and some virgin sunflower oil (my mother seemed to have discarded virgin olive oil for virgin sunflower oil), broccoli cooked in 2 way, one was stir-fried with light butter and the other with oyster sauce, and finally the huge 2piece unagi we grabbed from Carrefour. Though the standard of the dinner wasn't up to my usual expectations but it was still a great dinner because it was light for the stomach and self-cooked. Woohoo! We watched little bit of tv, and had ice cream. And for a moment, I think I mentioned to PS that it was kinda like married life. Haha. No no no, please don't get any idea wrong, OK? I don't think I would like married life because I think my partner would scold me like mad if I keep making people wait for me. HA HA HA. *evil grins* *winks at a particular person who've just been to a wedding dinner* --> maybe you should try it with that someone whom you just met.. =p
On Friday, I was invited to have dinner with Pika's mother and auntie. I would love to call them 师母 for they taught me lotsa stuff, especially stuff pertaining to the kitchen! Haha. I still have no results to show yet though.... my oven may still need to wait for a while before its first big baking assignment..... lol. Anyway I love the chicken and soup at Soup Restaurant aka SZLJ. Kevin first introduced me to the restaurant as the 7Seas people gathered, perhaps last year, at SZLJ of Suntec City. I have since not forgotten about the chicken. However, I still prefer the cheaper versions where you can eat at chicken rice shops, especially at Upper Thomson Rd, Blk 92 Toa Payoh, or near Novena. Whoever is interested in chicken rice let's have a food outing soon to Novena because I haven't tried it. It's called Wee Nam Kee chicken rice. Anyway the durian pancake at AMK Hub is overrated and doesn't justify the reason to queue 20minutes for it. I would recommend that you eat real durians instead because it is really just a slab of cold real durian put on a thin pancake and rolled. I thought it would be some sort of a creamy, heavenly mix but no, it really tasted just like a slab of real durian on pancake. Okie, the great beauty find of the week is the KOSE sunscreen at Venus Beauty (a toiletries specialist shop). It's $8.90, absorbs nicely and doesn't leave a sheen nor white cast on the face after applying. I used it personally on Saturday during the soccer game and 2hrs in the sun results in a no red-face Jeffire. Heh. Actually during the soccer game I used Biotherm as well, both are SPF50 and both screened me well but I still felt that Biotherm was a tad sticky on me...
So Saturday morning was soccer as usual at Redhill. I brought Jinki along and he scored several goals despite vomitting halfway his breakfast out. I warn all of you again, please do not eat too much before a strenous game! I had banana nut crunch 1hr before the game so it was not too bad for me, but he ate his unfinished bao 10minutes before the game. After the game I bathed at Delta Swimming Complex, a famous swimming complex for.... you know what. And this is such a funny notice I saw on the entrance:

LOL.
Anyway I rushed to Marine Parade for dim sum with Shimu2 (Aunt). Marine Parade food centre still boasts of some great food and this dim sum stall is one of them. It is just in front of the toilet (lol) and beside the famous Apollo char kway teow (which seems to have lost its queue appeal). I loved the har kow and the porridge. Heavenly!! After that Shimu2 treated us to dessert from Sweettalk, which was also situated at the food centre as well. DURIAN CHENDOL ICE BLEND!!!! I tell you, this is very filling and we (Pika, Princess Pooh and me) had a hard time finishing our chendols. Hahaha. We also visited a optical shop on the way and they made transitional spectacles for $200+ there already before I went there. Then we went to a pet shop to see rabbits and puppies. SO CUTE! But I still have no interest in having a pet because I cannot commit to it. Next was the usual shopping at Parkway Parade, visiting Harvey Norman, Watsons and spending a long time in Giant. The giant mango bought there was uber-delicious! And we saw the superbig watermelon there as well, imported from Taiwan. It weighs around 20kg and costs $60++!! So expensive... but the newspaper article says that it is sweeter than the usual watermelon... hope one day we can try it. Took 36 to Suntec City and switched to 857 back. The closing for Saturday was 7 episodes of School Rumble Term 2 and we probably laughed like a bunch of kids. Heh.
Sunday, 15 Jul 07, is my brother's 21st birthday. Nobody wished him happy birthday I guess. I didn't, and I doubt my parents did. Anyway he sees it as nothing but perhaps down the road in the future he may feel envious of others who could celebrate their 21st birthday in style. However, I am still proud of my brother who is quite an interesting guy who needs to adjust to society. Being hardworking, talented and humourous is good, but being anti-social just because many other contemporaries are "useless" is not a good excuse to avoid people. I am sure people take time to grow and I am sure while he doesn't like to join in the stupid activities like clubbing, LAN gaming, etc, staying at home to surf the net, forums and watching shows seems like just as dumb.... I thought he would at least get out for some action but no, he just stayed home. Oh well, he's my brother and while he won't be interested to read my blog, I would still put it here:
Happy 21st Birthday and may we achieve what we dream of!! Get out of Singapore as soon as you feel ready to, but don't FORGET to come back!
(I support his intent to go overseas to learn about the world, especially in the world of football, because I want him to know that there is more to life than practising hard at home)
And finally, about my Sunday, well.... I was working at the library. I had chicken rice for lunch (with extra rice, the first time in 3 years) and the only thing I want to say is:
Most Singaporeans and their kids are dogs or dogs-equivalent. No, some are worse than dogs. Why? Dogs bark when stimulated, dogs run when set free, dogs dumps stuff around. Some kids scream when they feel like to, run when they feel free to, and dumps books everywhere because they are lazy. So they are akin to dogs or other worse things). And since such kids are *******, their parents should be also *********
Therefore, I suggest to all, either teach your kid properly if you have one, or don't bring them to the library at all. (LOL, see, I'm not anti-children after all)
Another interesting week upcoming, so stay healthy, work hard, live life fully and enjoy your rest fruitfully. Take care my dearest buddies, friends and whatever you are, dog or no dog. *LAUGHOUTLOUD*
Ciao

Regarding the previous post, actually the titles have no meaning. That means the post is more likely a multi-idea post that has no real focus.
It's a nice day to do something memorable today, 070707, but today has ended up to be unmemorable for me.
First up, I was supposed to play football in the morning, but the rain spoilt the day entirely. The worse thing is I braved the rain to go to the venue only to end up being told that the game was cancelled. Oh well, my luck then.
Then I wanted to have some soya bean milk, but when I reached the stall at Redhill MRT, the shop was swamped with girls from a certain school. Spoilt my mood entirely.
I got a bun from the QBread shop then and stood near the bus stop to wait for the train which was 4 minutes later but while eating, an auntie asked me how can she get to Bukit Merah Central. I told her to try walking over, but she was hesistant. I understood that it could be due to the drizzle, so I offered to help her check if there was any bus. And indeed, there was one, 132, that goes to BM Central. I told her the answer but ended up missing the train. So I decided to take a bus to Outram Park station to take the NEL back home.
While at home, I spent my time cleaning my room, changed my bedsheets and took away the irritating curtains. Now my room looks very bright, the same as one year ago when I moved in. But I realised some parts of the wall are black, and my room is much smaller than last year because I shifted the recliner in. It's much comfortable sitting in the aircon, by the window, reading or using the computer, than to be out in the living room, and hot and stuffy. The television is a big distraction too, especially the drama channel (haha). Wonder what should I do to make my room more comfortable.
I then enjoyed playing with the dous as Sweetie got a new pet dog for himself to ride. But this new pet dog, nicknamed wo wo (think of it as a dog's bark), seems to be too tired to ride Sweetie around, so I guess wo wo is an old dog already. LOL. (Actually wo wo is a free gift from Mini Toons after I bought 2 bling bling necklaces B and P, hehe).
The last stupid thing that happened today was the buffet at Turf City. I ate with my family at Hokkaido Japanese Restaurant, to celebrate my brother's 21st birthday. It's not so a celebration but more of a eating fest. The service standard began brightly but waned as time passed. The food came really slow and in very small portions. We finished every plate in 1-3 minutes when each plate came. But overall we did eat alot and there were some nice stuff to eat. My brother ordered alot of fried stuff which I got sick of eventually.
Overall my ratings on this restaurant is "try once" and forget about it. Or if you don't drive, don't bother. Kuishinbo has a better variety but Kevin said it was not as good as before. Maybe next time then I will try Kuishinbo again as the last time I tried was 4 years ago.
Yesterday was quite a good day shopping with PS, Princess Pooh and Pika in Marina Square. The dinner at the Imperial Restaurant sucked but the fun was having Princess Pooh try out all the sexy stuff in Fox. Unfortunately they said I looked very tired and had no interest but I was more like unable to sustain smiling. Maybe because I didn't exercise during mid-week and did not feel good...But Fox's sale isn't too bad after all if you can find the right stuff to wear. $39 for 3 tops isn't too bad, right?
Finally, to end off, I would like to put the lyrics of this song which I am trying to learn....
让未来到来
让过去过去
做到谈何容易
有一天老去
有一天离去
遗憾还是在心底
我可以绝口不提
所有和你的曾经
如果这是你想要的
我会清理
If you do not want to feel like the singer, please treasure what you have now. This song is by 张靓颖 and the title is 这该死的爱. A very cool song!

Before I explain the title, here's something I copied from IceQueen's entry about a Japanese drama:
"Haha another thing they mentioned inside is.. Why do guys always keep silent or become silent when bad things happen? As in when they are troubled or sth they tend to keep quiet abt it and solve it themselves, they tend not to say it out.. E only ans i can think abt is pride n ego.. =P"
I agree with the 1st part in which guys tend to keep silent when bad things happen. However I disagree with IceQueen because guys who love their partner too much would not want their partners to go through the ordeal. It is love, and not pride or ego. It could be also fear, in the sense, that the guy may fear losing the girl's trust or confidence because the guy is supposed to be there to protect the girl. Some girls are all the more very fickle-minded, and guys would fear losing their girl just because they showed a little tinge of "weakness" for being unable to solve problems or prevent bad things from happening.
I, for one, would want to keep my someone from knowing my troubles as long as possible, though I guess I would like to have that someone able to understand that it is love and not pride.
Anyway, the past few days were spent shuttling around Singapore. I visited Clementi again and found that Clementi Book Shop prices had gone up due to the higher GST. SIGH. So the cost of studying has risen again. Other than that, the $2 for 3 pies pastry shop is still around, baking very fragant pies. And indeed, the coffeeshops there have no good food to offer.
Tuesday evening I was at SAFRA Yishun's swimming pool with my schoolmate Dom. The pool's pretty cool at night in the sense the lightings and the music. And there's a hydropool which you can enjoy a powerful jet of water massaging you. I wonder if it can help to shake the fats away? Haha. We had a good swim but I discovered I really cannot swim freestyle as I tend to swim off course, so much that Dom said I swam diagonally across 1/3 of the pool! Pengz.
Yesterday I visited Botak Jones in Ang Mo Kio with my 7Seas brother, Jinki, JK and Kev.. It is very near to where Princess Cow lives. The offering was varied and not really very expensive. However I heard the queue could be long as night, though there wasn't any in the afternoon. The fries are coated with some chilli powder, and tastes pretty good. The hotdogs, burgers, salads and meals are quite hearty-sized and therefore if you don't want to eat too much, you should share around the food. Heh. Overall I find it quite good, so feel free to try them out if you like.
We then walked to AMK central and they had a hard time deciding to play LAN games or KTV. As I felt that KTV was expensive, we played LAN games instead for it was cheaper. I seriously suck at those first person shooters so I was pretty siansified. The LAN game center is a former cinema theater converted so there were rows and rows of computers in the dark theater. I think the boss is indeed very clever to keep the architecture that way as it really makes the place look like a huge computer lab. Heh. $1.50 per hour of gaming. Cheap right? Too bad I'm not really a gamer, though I would not mind trying out playing the old old Starcraft. Haha.
Well, I guess I would stop here and maybe just say that I have 30 days left to do whatever I can to finish achieving what I had set out last birthday! Sigh.
Time flies.

Please do not get the wrong idea, I meant dreams in the sense of nightmares and such. Ambitions cannot kill. Or rather, to me, it is worthwhile dying for your ambition, especially if it is for a good cause. Today, the example I am going to quote isn't quite classifiable as a nightmare though it is the main reason for this post.
Well, I can't really remember alot of the "dream". Basically my memory begins from going to a heartland shop zone which is on the 2nd-3rd level of an old HDB block (I believe there isn't any kind of such shops anymore, the most similar should be the ones at Bukit Merah central.) I went up there to cut hair, but decided not to do first for some unknown reason. Then I was in a food centre, stopping at a stall which was ran by a family. I sat down and the stallowner's daughter smiled and said they are going to eat dinner soon and will eat with me. I looked at the menu and decided to order a fried bee hoon instead of all the appetising dishes nor the hor fun which stood out as a single special order. Later when their dinner was ready, they had very great dishes compared to my paltry fried bee hoon, so they shifted to another table, leaving the son who was still at my table. He jumped away when I told him that he can join his family. And then when my order came, it was hor fun and not bee hoon! So I was quite fed up (and probably quite heart pained) and left without eating.
Later in the dream, I was outside the salon with Pika and his sister, Princess Pooh. I checked the ATM for my account and realised that they had charged many things that I didn't buy to my account. (In real life there is no such ATM service, by the way) Feeling angry (and exasperated) I went to argue with the salon's manager, who had very bad service. I first reasoned that they might have made hold transactions that meant they were holding my $ though it hasn't been deducted yet. But I was really angry that the manager disagreed and yet did nothing to salvage the situation. As I know there were people waiting for me, I wanted to text Pika but before I could do so, one of my irritating schoolmates called me. (In real life, I reckon she works in a MLM though I have yet to see with my own eyes her real job, and this girl always calls me at the wrong time) I slammed the phone immediately and continued to try to text, though even before I could finish my text, I had already woken up. I felt very nervous, panting and unhappy during the first few moments after waking up.
Later in the day I realised that maybe some of people who died in their sleep with no apparent symptons could have died in their dreams. I have always believed in the power of dreams though I read that dreams are just random strings of flashes of your memory as your brain "archives" and "manages" your memory. Of course I have no scientific evidence, nor there isn't any way that scientists can test this theory (who would want their subjects to die in an experiment?) but personally I nearly had a heart attack after dreaming of Sadako (okie that was some 2-3 years ago) so I guess it is perhaps one of the reasons why people would die for no reason in their sleep.
Then, what can be done to reduce the chances of possibly dying in your sleep? First, I believe it is important to have control of your mind, which means you should have a calm and steady mentality. If you panic in real life, probably you would also panic in your dreams. Next, it is also important to know when dreams occur. I read that dreams occur during the light sleep period, ie, usually the first or last stage of your sleep. What we can do is to not refuse to wake up from this period. This goes back to the first point on mentality. You must remember to wake up and break the dream. I have dreamt of umpteen things and find that it can be practised and controlled (though I have yet to learn how to prolong sweet dreams, lol! Usually sweet dreams end fast..sianz) Next, please sleep properly and don't have breath stopping stuff on the bed. You never know when you will sleep-act. (Imagine dreaming of kissing Paris Hilton and she turns out to be Sadako while in life you are actually kissing your pillow, maybe you just die of self-suffocation!) Finally, dreams are unpredictable but still they are made up of an amalgam of your thoughts and what you have seen. Try not to see/experience too many weird stuff if your heart cannot take it, but this is also not up to us too. Hence my conclusion is, when you are fated to depart the world, you will.
After talking so much of dreams and nightmares, I recommend that you forget all about what I said. Or disregard them as just mere theories. I mean it because I know some people have very easily impressionable minds and I don't want to be accused of using reverse psychology to make people sleep-suicide themselves.
Well, apart from the above, let me recall some interesting stuff from my life....
Last Friday I went for midnight shopping and Orchard was flooded, flooded and flooded. There wasn't really much to buy though. We had dinner at a Japanese shop at Cuppage Plaza. The shop is called something no Osho. I had spicy ramen and the rest had tamago (egg) ramen. Our conclusion is that the ramen was too salty. Water is free flow instead of green tea. Prices aren't cheap for students but fine for working adults. We had gyoza (fried dumplings) and special ketchupy tori kaarage (fried chicken) with fries. The gyoza was really nice, slightly oily but tastes great. The other dish wasn't that nice but it was quite special. Kinda like a Japanese styled "kurukyok" (sweet and sour pork0. The steal for the day eventually was Fancl stuff from Isetan Wisma. Fancl staff at the OG outlet were terribly disappointing with nobody even offering to serve the 4 of us. I commend the 3 busy staff at the Isetan Wisma outlet and condemn the 3 at the OG outlet. We also enjoyed shopping in Tangs and I was made the butt of jokes as we were inside the underwear section... OMG, I hope I don't get those super tiny clothless trunks for my present! (bright yellow, red somemore, pengz) I went home on the last NEL train and reached home at 140am. Oh, and I wore a magnet stud for the 1st time and nobody seemed to object to me wearing it. Haha. Maybe I didn't look too bad in it.
Saturday was the gathering of the rabbit family. 11 people went to Fisherman's Wharf to have fish and chips with most having the $6.50 cream dory fillet. I felt that it was quite affordable although I think it was not value for money. The quality of the fish was great but not the greatest I had ever eaten. The fries, wow, too much for the average Singapore I guess. Kinda got sick eating the oil soaked fries. The malt vinegar made the fish smelled really really nice. Overall, no thumbs up because the ambience, the price and the food can't sum up to a pass. After the dinner and some laughing, we wanted to go TCC but walked a long long way passing the super crowded Esplanade and Marina Square. I can't fathom the reason for going there despite complaints that it would be super flooded but eventually we ended up at the quieter Millenia Walk. The TCC there couldn't accomodate 11 of us but Coffee Club could. However, I totally give Coffee Club thumbs down because of their lousy service and lack of variety in the drinks section. The 10% discount from UOB cards helped a little bit but sorry, I get 15% from TCC, and great service from them. Plus TCC has more drinks even though it is more expensive. Coffee culture is the in-thing in Singapore therefore people look for the experience more. I certainly enjoyed more in TCC. After the drinks and some people had to go home, I had to go East Coast Park for LSY's chalet cum send-off. Bus 36 took 40mins to come to Suntec but when it finally came, the bus was totally full. However the next bus came within 5mins, and I got on to the bus. While it took me 20mins to walk to the chalet, it was still the right bus stop I alighted at. Heng ah. I certainly hate Singapore chalets because they are small, expensive, and poorly maintained. Maybe in the future I should run a chalet too, sure can earn $. Anyway there were so many people in the chalet, maybe 20 odd and nobody bothered to clear up stuff. Food hygiene succumbed to laziness, resulting in kilograms of food wasted. I had planned many many barbecues and chalet outings before and had stopped since 2001 because I felt that there was no point in going for chalets because of all the people who are so damn pampered in their homes. No point sweating out for others, prepare, order, buy, cook, clean and nobody thank you for your work. No point trying to squeeze for a wink and everyone else is playing like mad, screaming vulgarities and laughing at stupid jokes. Well, of course I DON'T want a quiet and dead gathering but c'mon, spare a thought for those who need a wink because they worked their socks off for you to enjoy your night.
I slept around 430am after losing some 10+ dollars betting in blackjack, in the process fattening the wallet of a certain guy. I didn't feel sad though. It was just 10+ dollars, no point making yourself sad over that little amount of money. We checked out of the chalet at 630am as the guys finally scrambled to clear up. Luckily my brother drove there and I could drive to the airport in comfort and quickly rather than to take the stupid bus. Indeed we (me, my brother and his pri sch classmate) had enough time for a breakfast in the staff canteen while waiting for the entire group to reach Terminal 2.
The guys had grown up well, from really silly boys with absurd PSLE scores to today's scholars, undergraduates, and good men ready to contribute to the society. I dare say PSLE is not a good indicator of your future. Heh. I had my last task done, carrying LSY's luggage from the van to the canteen and then to the departure hall. We took some photos and there he goes, back to China to celebrate his birthday. Oh, and his birthday cake was made by one of his former classmate, a girl. The cake was tiramisu, but there wasn't any tinge of alcohol inside. I only had a mouthful because I was quite late and thank god I only had a mouthful. (remember that food hygiene was very low at the chalet).
Just 2hrs after the debacle at the airport, I was at the field in Yishun, ready to play football with my own former classmates of Catholic High. Most of the chaps have grown much muscular, and much much richer! Talks of high salaries certainly make me think that I must get down to action soon and not waste my youth anymore. But that is still a thought. I am still mentally weak, just as when I was on the field. I scuffed a one-on-one chance, shooting straight at the keeper, missed a tap in, missed a chance to score a spectacular diving header (I only stretched my short leg out and missed the ball entirely) and probably sprinted 50 times 10-20 metres and walked another few hundred metres in that 1.5hrs of football. Basically if you were watching, I was probably the player that had the crowd most disappointed. Thoughts of a debut goal disappeared with that audacious miss just in front of the goal. I guess while 2 boots with no soles is a good reason but it is still a lousy excuse to perform badly. Of course, I dumped those 10-yr old boots.
In fact, I dumped 2 pairs of shoes recently. The other one is a pair of running shoes I got during my NS, maybe in 2003. I still have a pair of running shoes, but surely, like what I put on my wishlist on the sidebar, I will have to get a new pair of soccer boots, just as when the GST/NETs hits a hike..... sianz. I am excited, however, because it is always nice to buy new shoes =p
And thank my lucky stars for giving me my 2nd 1st-prize win in a week. Yes, I didn't buy any 4d on Sat but on Sunday I won the 1st prize (IBet) again. Hahaha. =p This comes just after my lucky win on Wed. Hopefully the lucky streak can move on a little longer. I attribute it to a happy certain someone because I believe that this person is my lucky star. Hehe. When this person is happy, I have better luck. When this person is sad or angry, I am in trouble. Hope this certain someone who reads this will be happy reading this =) The dous are in for a treat too though I haven't got any requests for special stuff except for chips for the time being.
