This entry would be a sequential listing of events... thrown in with some bits of comments on my experiences.. hope it doesn't bore you~
Wednesday
---------
I term it the unlucky day as the rental vehicle I wanted to drive couldn't move for a cool 20mins due to a stupid lock by the previous user. Dinnered with Pika's family because they have been very nice to me. Also it was Princess Pooh's birthday, Father's and Mother's Day trip rolled into one. We had buffet dinner at Family International Restaurant, at Tampines Mall. Think of it as a watered-down Pariss buffet session which is cheaper. The variety and the quality was value for $ though for some items it was nowhere better than the cheapskate Sakura. One thing to note is that it is extremely difficult to find a lot in Tampines Mall.
Thursday
--------
Played through the entire morning till 530am before running into bed as I feared my mother's scolding. After a short nap, I swung into action for the Batam trip, packing everything I needed in 5mins. But I spent 10mins checking again. Haha. After being confident with my time, I strolled downstairs only to miss the bus. As I waited for about 5mins, I reckoned it would take forever for the bus to come, so I ran to the interchange and hopped onto the zero-seats-already train. (Punggol in the morning rush hour tends to see full seating). Was reading a book and contacting my 7Sea brother JK and he was in fact just a train before me. He then alighted and joined me, but he got in at the wrong door and had to wait till we passed Dhoby Gaut to talk to me. We were on time for the ferry check-in, and also had a little bit of time to buy some stuff and change money. I changed S$30.
The ferry was quite lok-kok (Batam Fast) and it was so crowded with noisy children because it was Family Day for Agilent Technologies, also Harris Resort bound. They filled up the resort and made my stay slightly inconvenienced. Harris Resort is kinda like a old resort trying to squeeze as many $ out of the outdated hardware as much as possible. If you are not too picky, you wouldn't find it too bad but of course most reviews you see are filled with negativities. Nonetheless, we had our fair share of fun from Go-Karting ($12 for 15mins), Kayaking ($10 for 1hr), Spa (2.5hrs, included in the package). I raced JK for the go-karting but lost to him at the last corner. Safety first! As for kayaking, the sea was calm but there was nothing to see in the dirty sea or the surroundings. Plus, the drizzle came so we ended the session at the 45min mark. My 7sea sister Bird (take it as nickname) said we should had tried the banana boat. I have no idea what it is except that it looks like a floatable crayon with 5 straps to strap you onto while some boat will tug you around (i think so). Lunch and dinner were both pizzas. I like their pizzas as it is really freshly made and the crust is super thin. At night we wanted to play games but it was really too expensive and cumbersome so they watched tv and I read till I fell asleep. I wasn't really asleep but just closed my eyes, so when they discussed something and I interupt them, they thought I was sleep-speaking. DOTZ. By the way, Batam's sunset is really early, 730pm, after my spa (scrub, massage and facial), the sky was totally dark. (Similarly, the sun rise too, 7am everything looks like 10am in Singapore).
The next day began with breakfast and a Korean movie served on the hotel channel was the best dish but we were unable to identify the movie. I have asked quite a few people after I got back, for the title. The setting is a bunch of overage (imo) guys studying (or tuitioning) in a Christian school who are kinda perverts deep in fantasy with their hot female teacher(s). Show is a comedy though. 1030am was the time to say goodbye to Harris Resort and we were on the bus soon on the city tour. The tour guide's name is called Nelly. She brought a whole bus of people including us to 2 temples (one buddha, one tuapekkong), to 2 tourists shops (selling dry foods etc which were grossly overpriced), a seafood lunch at the kelong which really sucked (my table had 1/3 of the food untouched even though we had 8 people eating), went for another massage ($20 only) at a so called "mass massage centre" (quoted by JK). Me and Kevin were in adjacent stalls and I noticed my masseur kept looking at Kevin. Hahahahaha. They sure have super fingers and my feet were really treated to a huge dose of pain. Didn't think the massage was good, plus different masseurs seemed to apply different skills despite all of us asking for the same treatment... hmm. Anyway one result I noticed was like my muscles were more defined and I kinda lost some rentented water because I kept going to the toilet every hour or so despite not really drinking much water.... heh. We also went to a apparel boutique that sells Polo stuff (which I felt was overpriced and ugly). The last stop, the shopping centre was pathetic but Bird bought interesting stuff - hygiene pads! I was quite pengzified by her but ah well, cheap means cheap...
When we were returning, at the Batam ferry terminal cafe, I nearly forgot my wallet if not for the cafe staff's shout. Was chided by JK. Later again, upon leaving the ferry when we reached Harbourfront, my passport fell out and landed in the corner of my seat, yet I was occupied with my earphones which fell on the floor. Luckily again JK spotted it and chided me again. I was pretty siansifed to be such a forgetful dumb stupid guy.... sigh.
This Ms E was at Vivocity again and asked if she could meet me. I asked her to join us for dinner, with JK and Kevin. Didn't really speak much except for some post trip discussion and about a possible cruise experience which I politely refused due to my holiday credit hours being used up already. My brother is already very unhappy with me as he is now working 7days a week like my father... while I'm still not really fully occupied with work.
On the NEL, JK's girlfriend joined us at Outram Park but she was at the opposite end of the train. JK asked her to come over, while my opinion was that he should go over and find her. Haha. Anyway a compromised was made and he caught her on the platform and then finally joined us for a short while. After Ms E transferred to the north-south line, Kevin asked what kind of relationship did I really had with Ms E. I replied to him that I treat her kinda like a sister. Kevin also noticed that when we are together I consciously make a gap between her and me. Ha ha. This actually stems from the original situation that I am extremely fearful of pretty girls. Anyway I think I wouldn't like to stand too close to anybody except 7seas brothers and army chaps whom I know very well. So if I always stand with a gap from you, and you are a girl, it means you are very pretty. Haha.
That was Friday.
Today was KTV with Charles and co. 5 people only this time. Sang most of the songs I wanted, including this Aaron Kwok song below, some Stefanie Sun songs, Gary Cao etc etc. I find that my singing sucks now. Sorry to jar your ears... KBox is also getting exhorbitant so I guess I would just stick to K Lunch or Partyworld in the future..Kbox's service SUCKS.
That sums up the past few days... sorry it sounds rush. I don't really care anymore if you read and end up confused but if there are any must-clarify stuff, please feel free to MSN me and let me know about it.
To end, let me write my feelings down:
SIANSIFIED, TIRED and FAT-FEELING!
Ciao
