Hello all
I don't know what is your impression of me following the long time we known each other, but I suppose one trait you may have in mind is 'capability'.
Simply put, 'capability' refers to the ability to do things. A general formula for capability could be:
capability = productivity * (total available time - rest time - transport time), assuming you can do nothing while moving around.
It is a fact that everyone has the same amount of time each day, using SI units, it would be 86,400secs. Therefore, how capabable a person is, is largely dependent on how productive he is and also how much he is willing to work. Unfortunately, rest time is a random variable subjected to each individual's capacity to sustain production. In some sense, we can only produce something if we want to.
Some people are highly productive (both quantity and quality wise) because they manage to reduce rest time to the minimum by doing the following:
a. Converting rest time into productivity time
b. Leveraging on others' time
c. Being more efficient
d. Resting less
Today I will like to highlight to all of you that I am actually not very productive as a person. Basing on the formula above, I just need to tell you what and how much constitutes the meaning of 'rest time' and you will know.
a. Sleep 6.5hrs daily (it's not enough because I wake up stale)
b. Read Soccernet news like a daily (probably takes up 0.5hrs a day)
c. Lunch, Dinner - 1.5hrs (breakfast is ate on the go or skipped)
d. Toilet/Bath breaks - emm.. think adds up to 0.75hrs a day
e. MSN - think this one cost about 1.75hrs a day and sometimes it's productive, sometimes it's recreation. (let's just assume it's all recreation)
f. SMS - 0.5hrs (same as above)
That should be about it, and it adds up to 13hrs.
My average transportation times:
a. Home to school - 40mins
b. School to work - 20mins
c. Work to home - 30mins
That adds up to 1.5hrs. So you add it on, it's 14.5hrs.
That leaves about 9.5hrs for working. But we have yet to include special but often circumstances
a. Meeting people for recreational purposes
b. Peeking at the tv or someone else's screen or newspaper
c. Called by someone for recreational purposes
d. Blogging (how many of us earn money from blogging!)
e. Singing silly songs when alone or with some silly pal
f. Stopping to help someone
g. Being stopped to help someone (eg, students pestering for your donation)
h. Horniness (now tell me who hasn't felt horny b4)
i. Reading signs and understanding instructions/terms and conditions
j. Stoning
Well, if you add all that up, I suppose there isn't much time to do much and, yep, that's exactly what kind of shit I am in now except item j (I have never stoned before except in group outings, especially big ones).
Now you weigh all your committments and see if you can so truly be called capable. Here are mine:
a. Travel Consultant work
b. School work
c. Dad's business (bookkeeping, administration)
d. CCAs (BIZCOM, MIC, the rest i am temporarily an inactive member.. sigh)
e. Washing clothes (yes, now i wash my own clothes)
f. Cleaning the room
g. Computer maintenance
h. Keeping nearly insane people sane (you know who you are)
i. Protecting my own image
Well, so now you know how incapable I am because I dun excel in any of these commitments.
Frustrated and sadz
