I have been absent for one whole week! Did anyone miss me? Actually nobody should miss me because I have been always available whether on or offline. Yep, that's what I think and if you differ, then show me why you need my attention. =p
Anyway the week has been very packed, but mostly of activities not mugging sessions! As you all know by this time, I have never mugged much unless forced to. The problem is, at this age, nobody will force you to study because you are supposed to take care of it yourself. I guess to me, mugging or studying, isn't my cup of tea! I rather be practising cooking, be practising football than to be studying because a. I won't be able to invent anything great for the academia world. b. Studying for exams is not in my life-long learning philosophy. Anyway, no matter how I say it, I will still have to flip the books for an hour or two and quickly recap the key ideas learnt before I go to the exam. This is to help soothe the nerves and up the confidence level. Nonetheless I still see myself helping to prop up the league table. =p
Jinki has been back for a week past and the 7seas have been getting together pretty often over the weekend. Firstly on Friday night Jinki, Kevin and I met up for supper and some late night chat which was very fulfiling, covering topics from love stories to business explorations and a little debate on investing.
Next, on Saturday afternoon we gathered again, including Alex, and played a short game of basketball court football near the NP area with my friend Johnny and his buddies. We thrashed the opponents despite them having 1 more player! Haha. Unfortunately, one of the opponents was too good and he managed to dribble 3 of us and score against us. We need to improve our defense mechanisms man! Hopefully after my exams we can have Leslie and co to play again, probably at NUS or if necessary NTU. I certainly love playing with the 7seas because teamwork is very very emphasised, although most of the times we aren't playing fluid football (since none of us are technically talented). Perhaps with more training together we can identify the correct positions we can play in and then the synergy will improve from there.
After the football game we gathered again at Jinki's place and they ended up watching tv. After that we rotted for a while before deciding to go out to eat (2am+ in the morning). The prata place we frequented did not have the food we wanted to eat. Luckily we drove, so Kevin suggested going to eat dim sum at Jalan Besar (Swee Choon). The dim sum was kind of over-rated I supposed but the portions were huge and generous. After that, we drove over to Punggol to take a look at the construction progress of my new home. The lights were up but still looks quite far from being finished with the debris all around. Sianz. Then as I drove through a deserted road, Jinki starting telling stupid ghost stories like 'what will you do if you see a girl waving at you at the bus stop', like 'night fishing is discouraged as those who possessed the 3rd eye can see them pulling your legs from the sea' (and the other 2 chaps still asleep in the back of the van). I jokingly replied that I would slap him if there was a girl waving at the bus stop. Anyway the truth is that I will stop to check if necessary. Yet depending on the situation like if she is drunk or if she looks drugged, etc, then I supposed it will be better to call the police instead. Hahaha. We arrived at Punggol beach but because the guys were too tired, we didn't get down to go to the beach. Then we drove back to Jinki's home and fell asleep till 7pm. Jinki had to sleep on the floor (to prove the floor was clean since he mopped it that day) and we felt fine sleepin on the sofa. Hahaha, brother, so sad we didn't sleep on your CLEAN floor. =p
So for Sunday, I woke up around 12pm as this old friend of mine, Chris Zhuang ( the only remaining from my McDonald's days, 7yrs ago) called me to see if I wanted to go out with him. I was fine with it so we decided to meet at Bugis as he wanted to go and pray at the temple while I needed to go Sim Lim to buy blank discs. There were so many people at the temple. Some old ladies were touting for their 4d tickets (nope, I didn't buy) or peddlers were selling their ware like joss papers, flowers and etc. Bugis is certainly the mix of the old and the young. Bugis Street is a trendy place but once you walk out of it, you find youself in the middle of all the uncles and aunties. Interesting, isn't it? There were plenty of ice cream vendors there too, and with the fine weather I supposed they had a good day. We went on to Bugis Junction / Orchard as he was looking for formal wear for the countless functions he had in camp. This was the first time I stepped into these shops:
a. Sasa (cosmetic shop)
b. Calvin Klein
c. Guess
d. Timberland (oh there is a very cute salesgirl there with a very diaoz voice)
e. Esprit (Meritus Mandarin)
f. Golf House (went to look at sunvisors and golf clubs)
Too bad I didn't go into Zara & Hugo Boss to take a look at their stuff.
But of course after going through all these, I decided that branded stuff are really out of my league. However shopping is really enjoyable! Hahaha. (window, that is)
Finally, to sum up my shopping experiences, here goes:
a. Departmental stores counters have the best service people.
b. Singaporean shoppers are really a terrible lot to handle (like my friend)
c. Cineleisure's Kobayashi (a Japanese restaurant) sucks.
d. Don't eat too much if you are on a shopping adventure. Very tiring and demoralising if you are trying out clothes. lol~
e. Look at good looking people as much as you like, gives you ideas on how to dress up.
f. Be prepared to split up often because not everyone likes looking at the same label / brand.
g. Beware of running kids! (nearly crashed into one)
h. Don't be shy at the lingerie section (this is a joke! I always squirrel past quickly)
Okie, look forward to more shopping experiences in the near future. Especially the Xmas season is coming!
Enjoy the exams and the post exams activities!
Oh ya, I will be going with Chris to KL from 11 Dec onwards till 14 Dec. He is meeting his Ragnarok Online guild members (he's a guild master) and I'm just tagging along. If anyone is interested to go, let me know asap by the end of the week as I am putting up the itinerary very soon on Wednesday.
