Time flies! The end of October has just swept by the doorsteps and we are looking at Nov tomorrow. One good thing is that we have 2 holidays this week and that means more time to rest and enjoy. The catch is that these 2 holidays only free me from my office table into the realm of deadline pending projects. One is upcoming next Wednesday but the progress of the project is like 5% only. Sigh!
Nonetheless, over the weekend I managed to clean up my home, gave a treat to my parents (because I've won money from soccer punting), cooked for my family (and nearly my friends, who all in the end, could not come) and also repaired the laptop at school today in the sense now I can use it to do some work rather than just surf net, MSN and email.
However, there are still plenty of work yet to complete. How can I enjoy my holidays like that!? Yet, I guess nearly everyone else in my circle has the same grouses. Talk about enjoying university life, it's much like enjoying the after-life of university if you manage to survive with your soul intact after the barrage of attacks from exams, school work and CCAs.
There is plenty much to write but I shall leave them to my memory archive rather than here because they are quite personal stuff that you may not want to hear. Hohoho. I'm famous for being awfully honest, isn't it? Now it's time to shed that image and become a secretive person. =p
Finally, to round off this month, let me say thank you to all those who visited jeffire.blogspot.com all these while. Do continue to drop by once in a while (roughly every 4-5 days) to see new developments in the Jeffirean world. I will organise stuff once in a while like KTV, like shopping, like makan outings, etc. Hehe.
Festive greetings to all celebrating Deepavali and Hari Ray Puasa! Enjoy~~
Tired but positive

He has always mentioned that love in its purest form, has no discrimination, whether on the grounds of sexuality, religion, superficiality, gender, age, occupation, and many many more criteria. He does not seek to find love. Just like his famous saying 'I'm waiting for the sky to fall', he is also waiting for the love to fall on him. Nobody should dictate who he should love and why he should love. He will not love anyone until being loved. He loves only himself and fights for only himself. If he treats other people like himself, then he will also love them and fight for them. -- the other Jeffire

Wednesday 26 Oct is the first time the security records of the library registered my existence there. This shows how 'good' a student I am! It took me 11 weeks to go to the library and the thing I did there was not to study but simply just to get access to a computer so that I can register for my project.
Wednesday 26 Oct is the first time I ever did a project that consist of simply just playing a game. The game is created by Littlefield Technologies and it involves the management of a factory via controlling several parameters such as no of machines, inventory control etc. Essentially it's still very operations-oriented, so plenty of mathematics is required -> which I am lousy at! SOBz. Anyway the good thing is that there is a function which plot graphs for you, so rather than going through every calculation, you can simply just look at the graphs to make a decision. However that will compromise the report... arghz. By the way, I still prefer playing Capitalism Plus. It's a total business simulation from agriculture to manufacturing to retail to capital market access.
Saturday 22 Oct is the first time I ever went to Zion Food Centre. In fact I went over to Tiong Bahru to jog with my buddy, Leslie and after the jog, as promised, he brought me there to eat dinner. The jog was more like a house viewing session for me, as we jogged through the private estate where all the houses were huge bungalows, all contemporary designs and were all so stylish! Haha.
Since we are at the food centre topic, let me introduce you some of the good food there.
Char Kway Teow (the stall at the far end, near the curry rice)
This one is famous, need no more introduction. See the queue, join the queue. Leslie mentioned that the boss is quite proud and if you irritate him he may decide not to sell you his char kway teow. Rating: 4 stars out of 5
E-Curry Mixed Rice (look out for a giant E)
The food is very expensive compared to any mixed vegetable stall, but the curry is pretty good.
Rating: 3 stars out of 5
Chengteng (ask and you will know)
Another famous stall but I didn't get to try the chengteng.
Fried Carrot Cake (look out for the stall chef who is hearing impaired)
The white carrot cake was given a negative rating by my parents, but for those who like it real hot, man, this one is for you.
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
Western Food
I had the fish and chip on Saturday and felt it was pretty good.
Rating: 3.5 stars out of 5
That's all I have for you! Hope you can add on to the food guide there ba.
Nothing much to add about my life except that I am still feeling strangled by projects that seem to be piling up, the rain these days are hampering my exercise efforts (looks like I may be forced to go to the gym..) and life is getting more and more busy. When will the holidays come!?
Another 4 weeks to the end of school. Yeah!! Okie. Reminder to all:
a. Batam trip is still on in Dec (13th - 15th). I'm going to book soon, please quickly revert if you have a partner coming with you.
b. KTV for Deepavali is fine with me as long as I get to play my football at NP in the evening. Hopefully we can have the early morning?
c. I will be going over to Malaysia on 3rd Dec Sat afternoon and returning on 4th Dec Sun afternoon. Anyone wants to go with me? It will be a shopping trip + haircut + makan..
Woo. Wish all the best for all my friends who are taking exams, O levels and university! Work hard for this last segment, ok? Very fast will breeze through........zoom!
Best Wishes

'Listen, listen, come on folks, listen to me, be quiet be quiet' - LeeHom
Woohoo. Folks! How did your week go? For me it was simply a 'U shaped curve' with the week starting brightly, sinking in the midweek and to be ending on a high. Wait, isn't it the same everyweek, since I have a long long day on Wednesdays in school. Oh well, perhaps the intensity of the rebound was much stronger. Here, let's recall it quickly...
Yesterday was a great day, with a slow start at work in the morning, but things went fast and furious. My senior colleague's friend brought us nasi lemak for lunch! Most important it was FREE, now who should resist good and FREE food. Haha. So the calorie count book was thrown out of the window and the mess began.
After lunch, cleared some more work and went back to school for a massage by the visually handicapped and then a meeting. The massage was real painful! Yet I felt great after it. The meeting that followed was very fruitful as time was real tight, but the foreseeable future brought some optimistism to our small but expanding team. Guys, support the Uni+Vantage scheme, alright? When the website is up, we hope you can help us chalk up the hits, and of course, please do visit the participating vendors to enjoy your privileges.
Some more work resumed in the office after the meeting but the high point came as I was blessed with some astonishing fortune, albeit with my brother's help. Ok, maybe this puts the girls off, it's about soccer betting! Well, I won the 8 goals bet again~~ hehe. With the good news, I spent a cool $35 at NTUC buying tidbits for the Japanese Cultural Club party, which I proceeded to right after work. Including the transport on no 240, $50 was gone instantly in one night! Yet I should say it was good money spent as the party was so fun! Met so many people, new friends and new people to know. Firstly, I realised I was quite sociable and was able to approach people to talk to. Secondly, I spoke to the Japanese in Japanese! Some of them were quite impressed, although of course my Japanese is even lousier than a Japanese toddler. Haha. Lastly, there was plenty of eye candy at the place... the Japanese girls were all so pretty! It's not like those 'lian' kind of pretty, not like barbie doll that kind... just a very warmth smile, very nice complexion and great dressing sense. The guys were just as fun to be with too, but they were all quite tanned, perhaps due to them being students from Kyushu? The guys were drinking and offering beer and wine, but most of us had to make do with coke and green tea. Haha. Had a very fruitful chat with the president of the club, Di-Er (everyone calls her Dear!?) and she taught me some ways on how to apologise and thank people properly. Hehe. Then we went around together serving 'keiki' (cake) to everyone for she was the one who bought the cake. Yeah. Too bad I had to depart earlier than the main group (it was 1130pm already ok?) so the fun party ended in such a short period...haha.
Today's 22th of the month. Time to report about the weight loss program.
ZERO progress!
Oh well, at least I maintained my weight, bettered my shape and have a good idea of how the program should progress from there. Some factors that were hampering the progress include the projects and meetings from school, the bad weather, and a series of food fests at home and in the office. Haha. Good life ah...but there's still another month to go till the holidays and I suppose I could still salvage something. After all, maintaining a good looking shape requires long term commitment.
Finally, some other good news to report. I finally got an A for a CAT assignment, passed my CAT test, and did fairly fine for my MPW project. Still got plenty of stuff to do for school, and I guess everyone's the same as me! Don't give up nailing down that elusive A! Jiayou! But of course you should also relax when necessary, to ensure you are in the pink of health when the exams come! The weather isn't too good these days you know (so cool that I just want to sleep the whole day...) Oh and I also struck 4d and won $6 again on Wednesday, the same no which I struck on last Saturday.. haha.
May you folks, hunks and babes, enjoy a fruitful weekend! See you soon~
Minna Ganbatte!

Sometimes some people find that he is over-optimistic. Yes, and it certainly brings some conflict. But don't you think that makes you sit down and think, can we do this? Is this the right way to do it? Even after thinking through, the decision has to be the other one, he has already achieved his aim. He just wanted you to sit down and consider carefully, if a risk can be taken, whether a stunner can be pulled off. Yes, he brings out your adventurous spirit! Be assured, success or failure, everything tried is a better lesson than doing nothing and then wondering or regretting afterwards

My dear friends who will be reading this post while taking precious time out of your busy schedules,
Sometimes I just feel like taking everything that's I count as mine and off to another place to live the life I want. I REALLY WANT TO MOVE OUT OF THIS FREAKING DIRTY PLACE. Tell me, who doesn't want to go home and enjoy the warmth of home? Who doesn't want to go home and enjoy a clean and comfortable resting zone, to recharge oneself for the next journey? I get out of the home around 8 everyday (or later if there is no meetings or lessons) and get home 10pm. I get out of the home thinking that someone will help to tidy up the stuff, clean up the floor (at least sweep and mop it), clean up the sink (wash the dishes) but when I get home
- my room is a mess
- the floor is oily and sticky
- the sink is full of bits of food, both raw and cooked
- the toilet floor is littered with bits of food and broken bits from washing of clothes
- the mirror is cluttered with all sorts of chemicals
- wires are everywhere on my computer table
- my comics are on the floor, on the cupboard, but never in the shelf
- the fan is dusty
- the wardrobe is more like a huge space to dump dry clothes in
So what do you expect me to do when I come home at 10? Clean all those stuff?
My parents are living it worse than me, they get out of the home at 7am, get back home at 10pm like me. I cannot expect them to be doing all the cleaning as well.
Many of us fail to acknowledge that household chore carry a huge instrinsic, economic value that is not quantifiable nor rewardable easily. This negativity is doubled when the self-centred trait in dominant in a family of the same inherited genes. You only care for your own comfort and convenience and whoever else is affected is none of your problem.
I wish that my mother will
- clean up after cooking
- wash the bits away after throwing them into the toilet (whether food or bits from the washing machine
- wash clothes with more care rather than dumping everything into the washing machine
- dump all the old clothes away
- not buy so much food and let it all go bad,
- not buy so many different kind of sauces that clutter the fridge, only to be used once a year
- not take so many sundries and hide them under the table from us
- wash her underwear at one fixed area, preferably in the master bedroom bathroom
I wish that my father will
- put the newspapers into the collection bin after reading
- keep the shoes arranged neatly at the doorstep
- dump all the old clothes away
- flush twice after doing business
- put his mouthwash neatly and not cluttering the mirror ledge
I wish that my brother will
- put the books back into the shelf after reading
- put the newspaper into the collection bin after reading
- put the cds back into the sleeves after listening, burning or watching
- not roll and lie on the floor without wearing clothes (his sweat and fats make the floor oily and sticky)
- wash up after he cooks for himself
- close the cap of the saline solution for the contact lenses
- keep his clothes in his wardrobe instead of dumping them into mine
- wear his own underwear (how can waist size 36 be wearing S size underwear?)
- let me sleep peacefully by switching off the lights and not taking away my pillow/blanket
- stop calling me fat pig when he himself is the fat one
I wish that I can
- put the books back into the shelf after reading
- throw away all my books and past projects
- throw away all my clothes that don't suit me anymore (I have slimmed down alot since the past)
- have a space to keep my sports equipment
- have a space to arrange my 5 pair of shoes neatly
- remember to take the keys out of the door after opening the door
- start each day without jumping to the floor to switch off the alarm
- have the ironing board in my room
- be informed that there is dinner before 4.30pm
- make my own dinner when i come back home, wash my own clothes
- not share my clothes, my cup, my toiletries, my crockery and my storage spaces
Please, HDB, if you read this, let us have the keys to our new home soon where I can set the systems anew and get everything sorted out the way it should be.
I am sick of my 17 year old flat where the air condition controller says 20d celsius but spews out air at 26d celsius(too old), where the sockets are all wrongly placed(old designs), forcing a poor fengshui system, where the water heater doesn't work(t00 old), where the kitchen cabinets are filled with things in the wrong spaces (why on earth did my parents get the cabinet set without any intention to fill the right things in?) We cannot get all these rectified if we don't move.
Wait, maybe if I move, everything will be recitified. Yeah. I should start looking for a place where I call the shots and I get to live comfortably... yeah.
I finally tire myself enough to sleep. It's 2.00am! In fact if there is no need to sleep, I would be finding a midnight job to stay away from home. Yes. Like in NS, where everyone said I was mad to be staying in despite being in a stay-out unit. If you live in my home, you will want to stay in, I assure you.
Sighzzzz

Man, Don't you agree that you had felt like this: 'Jeff is very busy, don't bother him', or 'Jeff always has something different to say but I don't need him to say so. I just need someone to listen, but Jeff doesn't listen, he always have something to suggest for my problems. But i no longer see a point talking to him because i think that he thinks he is my service provider rather than a friend. I can solve these problems myself too. He should not think that he is the almighty one'.

Konnichiwa!
Just spoke to 2 receptionists from the Japanese golf clubs. So difficult! The first one didn't understand English while my Japanese was too casual, so things were not working out really well. Luckily she had a colleague who could speak a little bit of English and that smoothen things out. In the end, Ah-Jeff got her email and sent the script which was crafted by Ah-Jeff and edited by my schoolmate, Misaki san. Hopefully can get the reply soon...as my boss is chasing! Sianzzzz..
MY sent me a powerpoint test which gave 10 questions on frangrance preferences and the below is my result:

Quite true, right? Anyway if you would like to do the test, MSN me for the file.. it's 236kb big.
Recently, not much to update except that Ah Jeff stopped training for a while to recover from the over-use of my right leg on Sunday (2.5hrs soccer + 1hr swimming), but will be resuming soon the program with more running. Running will be alternate days so except on days designated for swimming (Tue and Fri). Ah Jeff doesn't really like running, but it is still recommended the best way to slim down. If you see someone running in Yishun with a football, then that is Ah Jeff! Some people run with their dogs, some with their friends, so Ah Jeff run with football, one of his best friends. (Run with Pikachu will be even more attention grabbing but Ah Jeff does not need that kind of attention..)
Today Ah Jeff saw a Mazda 6 outside school after his meeting... yellow colour, driven by a young chap. SIGH. So the main topic today is about Ah Jeff's dreams compared to the real cold hard reality...Ah Jeff likes to dream, but both feet must still stick to the ground..
Dream Car
-----------
Ah Jeff originally wants a BMW car, any series will do because BMW is so comfortable! But Mazda looks so alluring with its curves... think Ah Jeff will buy a Mazda because he has never seen a bright coloured BMW...maybe Orange?
Reality : Think Ah Jeff will take MRT as it is much cheaper. Maybe buy van like his father since diesel is cheaper! Seriously, Ah Jeff prefers environment friendly transportation, so for short distances, cycling will be good, while long distances MRT will be good too.
Dream House
--------------
Ah Jeff wants to live by the sea, so in Singapore, this Carribean by Keppel Bay looks really attractive. Whereas if the scope is widen to the world, Ah Jeff actually wants to live in Okinawa, Japan. Beach Boy dream! Joking~ Actually Okinawa has a artiste school where there are many potential artistes, so got plenty of eye candy! Okinawa is a island, south of Japan, by the way.
Reality : Ah Jeff will have to stick to living in a HDB flat, facing the sea, hopefully. The new home the exact directions Ah Jeff cannot really remember exactly, but as long as there isn't any construction in the direction facing the sea, should be able to see from my home ba. Punggol!
Dream Partner
---------------
Okie, this one is real sensitive. Probably, Kelly Chen is one good choice, but since Ah Jeff does not speak Canto, probably someone like Jolin Tsai would be suitable! LOL. Ah Jeff also likes Gackt but Gackt is too weird a guy (girl)..
Reality : Actually, Ah Jeff does not really want to talk about this because reality is cruel and cold. Sighzzz
Dream Career
--------------
Ah Jeff really wants to be a football club manager! Personally Ah Jeff thinks he can do a better job than Rafa Benitez but don't think Rick Parry will hire him because a. Ah Jeff is too young to coach Captain Marvel (Steven Gerrard) b. Ah Jeff does not speak Spanish (how to tell Luis Garcia not to go and fight for headers with Peter Crouch!!) c. Ah Jeff does not have the experience of playing club football..
Reality : Maybe Ah Jeff can be a western food stall owner! But, most probably Ah Jeff will end up in some office, typing this blog again and again...
Think this is enough thinking... need to get out of the office to catch my Fei Yu Ching disc! May your dreams and my dreams come true! So work hard for it~~~~
Ganbatte~

Dear folks,
Time flies and tomorrow is the 2nd birthday of this blog! Last year Ah-Jeff was stuck in the hustle and bustle of school to even remember its birthday but this year since he has just completed the mid terms, Ah Jeff feels that he should sit down and take a good look backwards.
Blogging began as an avenue to put up stories of the Jeffirean way of living because in today's fast paced and competitive world, it is pretty difficult to get in touch with your friends, your loved ones, or to get to participate in events/activities so that you get to know new people.
At times, it may also be difficult for you to say the things to someone directly and personally, yet the desire to let the person know lingers, so blogging is quite an useful way to get the message across. But of course, what you write may not translate into effective communication as the reader may read it in the wrong context, but at least there is still some sort of communications around.
Blogs are a way of saying "This is what I have to say, you can TALK to me if you have something to say as well" It surely can help everyone, be it an introvert or an extrovert, to get in touch with people who can strike a chord with the blogger. Ah-Jeff certainly thinks that it has helped alot to get in touch with the other people who are just as (or even more) busy than us. It has bonded Ah-Jeff to like the 7Seas brothers (2/3 of us blog), like F*Jinx, Yingzie, Bon, Joyce, Ms Beautifuk, Charles, Aloy, Meiju, Mr Strong, Ms Imperial Guard, Delvin, etc etc (I read quite a lot of friends' blogs but not celebrity blogs) Although we may not have met for perhaps weeks or even months, we are still in the know of how one another are doing. It will be easier to start a conversation like that, isn't it?
Of course, blogging, like email, is still considered a passive way of communications, therefore apart from pouring our memorable moments or forgettable moments, we still should get in touch with the world by going out to meet up with our friends, take a look at the environment (or the shops!) and try to stay relevant to the world. Some of my friends have gone out of touch with the world, because they did not find a comfortable communication channel to pour their thoughts out. Today, their lives are unknown and we wonder how they are doing and how they are planning for the future. We wonder.
To end off the lookback sentiments, Ah-Jeff here will like to thank everyone for spending your precious time to read the Jeffirean life. Thank you! Stay in touch, ok?
Wait! Don't go yet. Your dear Ah-Jeff has some things to recall for the week...
Wednesday (5 Oct) was my FT fine dining test. Everyone was so well dressed! (cos dress sense is also graded) We had it in Hotel Rendezvous, one of the ball rooms and were sitted in round tables of 10 pax each while having a western style of dining. Aiyo, Ah-Jeff was penalised for putting the knife edge facing outwards when it should be inwards... But the real gain of the day was to talk to the girls (cos socialising was also graded) and it turned out to be the girl on my right was my SCS teammate, Grace and the the other girl was Shihui, my classmate (but rarely talk to her wan.. you know Ah-Jeff la.. always scared people gossip...haha). The conversation was really quite fun and Ah-Jeff realised that talking to girls isn't so difficult after all. Haha. Ah-Jeff was dressed in the pink G2000 shirt he bought some weeks ago and then with the G2000 tie he bought. Think he was quite good looking that day, but of course there is still a long way to go to become really acceptable looking... sighz. Still, it was a memorable experience to have and so different from the kopithiam way of eating we always enjoy. Haha.
Bizcom elections today was a real awkward situation where some failed to secure their conveted positions while some others got in the EXCO with huge support. Ah-Jeff was voted off the Asst SCS Director post, losing to his teammate in the process. However, positions are responsibilities, so since Ah Jeff was voted to remain as the Ops Office, then, responsibilities remain relatively unchanged although leadership in the committee was switched to peers of my year. Iit should be a new experience to look to. If you wonder if Ah Jeff was disappointed, yes, of course, since one year of work did not bear any tangible fruit. However, being the positive person , Ah Jeff feels that the intangibles were much valuable and lacking one more post doesn't affect his resume since it is already too packed. Haha. Yet it does really show how much and how well-timed the exposure you need to garner votes. The newcomers who were voted into Exco were very active in the recent months while Ah Jeff did not even manage to take time off to attend recent activities (he secured some deals, but never got to enjoy the subsidised/free dinners cos always no time to go outing )In the end what is important is that it is a good lesson learnt. However, next year Ah Jeff would have to step down from all the CCAs as he is looking to see if he can go on an exchange to Japan..hmm by the way, Ah Jeff is inside the Youth Tourism Professionals sub-committee so you see how many hats he is wearing now...
Apart from that, school life is taking a toll with the mid term exams and projects, but Ah Jeff managed to clear them off in a 3day blitz (while still enjoying some WE action, haha). Time management wise Ah-Jeff has been taking quite a lot of time off from the office, because of school meetings. Somehow Ah-Jeff knows he needs to put in a lot more at work to show that he is in it for real.
Well, activities lined up for the mid-term break week include (Ah-Jeff is still working full-time through the week ah...):
Tomorrow - wait for the sky to fall (no la, find soccer khaki..)
Sunday - Play mahjong (need one more khaki lei..)
Monday - Project meeting
Tuesday - Go swimming
Wednesday - MPW project group outing... Ah Jeff needs to plan for this
Thursday - Wait for the sky to fall...(think maybe go swimming in the morning or something...)
Friday - Community service
Saturday - KTV with the chaps
Sunday - Organise a BBQ/dinner for my 7Seas brothers and sistas... Eileen's Oct 10th, Alex's Oct 17th and Kenneth's Oct 30th..celebrate together in one shot..
Hmm, all right, Happy birthday to my blog and my dear brothers, and all the Oct babies out there! May all your wishes come true (except the toto first prize, which should be mine... hahaha)
Jubliant and feeling free

Hello folks! How have you been?
For Jeffire, the week and the weekend was really terrible. School work is piling up, the weather sucks, and life is still the delicate balancing act where we try to prevent ourselves from falling. Jeffire fell pretty badly last week with all the poor punctuality and ever-present deadlines hounding. Sigh.
The other terrible news were
a. Bali was bombed again by sucide bombers. (ah.. no more Bali for me..)
b. Jeffire had to study for the midterms and still couldn't manage a pass.
c. The installation of software required by the school for my new laptop wasted a whole lot of my time and made my webcam disappear.
d. Jeffire is still 61 kg. (he doesn't look like 61kg, does he?)
e. Liverpool lost 1-4 at Anfield to Chelsea (!)
On the positive side, the following were noted:
a. The laptop was a excellent buy at $1998! (ASUS brand - pronounced ah-su-z although Jeh-fi-year always prefer to call it air-sirs ~lol*)
b. Had sting ray at Blk 85 Bedok North (like months since I last ate it) and paid meals for Sunday
OOh. Let's expand on the Bedok North dinner with my parents. There are so many good looking people there! One particular eye-candy was the beer salesgirl...but what was admirable was her character! Cool, calm yet approachable. Well, this food centre seems to be a quite a lively place with the good food, the beautiful ladies and the handsome chaps. Who wants to go makan there with me!? Can eat while you 'cruise'...hahaha.
Oh, before you go, the E-O-Y trip the destination has been set to Harris Resort, Batam instead! Hope to get more people so that we can just have more fun since the trip is so short... Well $90 is pretty fair value so come on guys, if you are interested, let Jeffire know ok?
October Blues
