Life is just a series of 'gives and takes'.
Had 2 days of losses during last week which totalled till $110. It wasn't the amount that was important but the timing of it(and the manner I lost it as my homework with my winning formula got the answers correct..diaoz). Actually like I said, I was on a roll (with the formula)till then, but this sudden loss (when I defied my formula) came at the wrong timing (last Thu) when I was not supposed to get any allowance from my father this month. Haha. Noneless, I survived the drought with an instant inflow from my brother on Tue, and subsequently won $190 profit immediately for the Man U - Chelsea match by only putting $45 down. Nice comeback rite?
However on Wed I took my time to go down to NUS to play soccer with WJ's friends. While I was very glad that I could have a good workout with the high tempo game and the great sun, I was pretty fed up with the lateness/selfishness of the people there. Many times we could have done a quick one-two to set up a goal scoring chance, only to be denied when they decided to go for goal rather than to pass to someone who was unmarked. I deliberately extended my stay there in order to fight for a goal back for my team, but in the end there was no more goals from my team and they couldn't play anymore due to the hot weather. Now because I extended my stay I was late for my mahjong session later, so I took a cab to rush back home only to find everyone later than I could accept (except poor Justin) After that my hard luck continued and was bankrupted in the game but there was no more chance for any fight back because we only decided to play 1 round at the end. I was pretty annoyed at that time because I deliberately rushed back to play mahjong and not to see people play games. And that I deliberately postponed my interview made the situation even worse. But at the end of the day I was glad to have met Justin and that I really felt more sad for him for he came all the way from Tampines, only to have people come so late, and that he lost even more. How can I ask him to come over to play again the next time!!? Nonetheless he seems not to mind, so perhaps the next time I will ask him to come help play with the mahjong class rather than the advanced mahjong group.
Today was a rush in the morning too as I woke up around 830am and then went downstairs to buy the ingredients for the lunch for those coming for the mahjong class. It was much better today because the last person to arrive was only around 30mins late but I felt it was fairly acceptable due to the distance and the early morning. Then the mahjong game went on very well, because even Charles was game for it and they had a good time learning how to play even without my monitoring. I was busy preparing lunch for them. Eventually the food although they came out weird, but I certainly hope it was still edible and healthy~! After lunch we had a ktv session at home with Charles having a personal concert. Winston who came for the mahjong class surprisingly stayed past the time he told me he will be staying. He stayed for the entire singing session. Well, hope he will come play mahjong again with them since he lives quite near. And yes, thanks to Huiling who came here to run the show for me in the mahjong class plus she bought something from JB for me! So touched...(but she is still far from knowing what I like.. haha) Hope you enjoyed the listening to us sing? Haha, and Joyce says that you should specialise in singing all the Jolin songs!! yay i think so too because you sing quite well, a talent for singing like Joyce too. Why? Both of you have very sonorous voice which is very important for singing well~ Heh. Hope to get Huiling to sing more next time.
And thanks for everyone for coming for the class, I really enjoyed it although I had to do so many things... haha. And maybe the next time I won't want to prepare lunch anymore unless you guys have a specific menu in mind.... I wonder if you guys enjoyed what I enjoy eating... haha.
And here's what I've received from life despite all the expenditure!
I finally got the dream job I wanted despite having so many obstructions like school work, exams etc! Manage to convince them to give me a permanent job and the GM Ms Fiona kept saying she was very impressed with me. Hahaha. However for the holidays I only managed to secure the part time job, 9am - 1pm Mon - Fri and the pay's $720 with CPF, means take home pay is slightly more than what I do now. It's fine for the job is very interesting, and then the hours are so short! I can now play mahjong the whole weekend~ And maybe I will want to find another part time job for the time being so that can tide over this month with ease. Not too sure if Singapore Pools wants to help for the remaining matches..... haha.
Yes, life is really a series of 'gives and takes'. Hope you guys understand and don't always take so much. Do remember to give when possible because eventually you won't lose out. Selfish people will always be condemned.
