"Good morning, Tiger Airways Ticketing Hotline!"
That's my opening line at work when I'm given the opportunity to be listening to calls. As I'm on training, the usual will be for me to tap a senior's call or for the senior to tap mine and give me pointers.
It's quite a nice job, and it seems like an extension from my previous job. I feel like I've yet to leave the tourism industry. Hmm.. it's stirring my desire to travel! Unfortunately, my family is so poor that the furthest we have travelled to is Cameron Highlands (me), Malacca (my bro), Riau Islands (my parents). Sigh.
I am looking to the future when I will be travelling the world with my backpack on both feet, buses, cabs and hitch-hiking. I want to feel the earthquakes, see tsunamis, chase tornadoes and escape from floods. Yet please spare me from plague, locust attacks, snow storms and volcano eruptions. I will be glad to be helping people in heatwave areas and droughts. I really want to.
Back to reality, my take on most Singaporeans is that many are reluctant to learn (or lazy) and that they are naive, stubborn and ridiculously egoistic. They think the world revolves around them and things are planned for them! Fat hope~ Wake up if you belong to any of the categories below.
1. Reluctant to learn - Get retrenched soon unless you sign up for re-training. And mind you, retraining cost money. Luckily retrenchment pays you some money for re-training.
2. Lazy - Get sacked soon. You will be better off being a beggar. Or perhaps you should try getting a job at the CASE hotline to see if you enjoy being lazy.
3. Naive - Read the fine print, dear.
4. Stubborn - If insisting makes you happy, then go ahead. I have no ability to give in to you.
5. Egoistic - Buy your own airplane like Mr Ambramovich and save yourself time to book air tickets. You needn't plan beforehand, just dial your pilot and you will be in the sky soon.
All right, don't ever try to defend yourself. We all have one of the traits or more. It's just that at work I get to hear from plenty of people with all these traits. I am happy to be listening though. It makes my day faster too.
Let's shift back to school work. I wonder what the hell I'm doing in this expensive school. After solving the book problem, I hear a hike in the fees. I wonder if it is because I am stupid not to be able to earn enough money for school or the school is too clever. Apart from worrying about school fees and books (I've yet to get all of them, and I dun intend to, anyway.), there are all the projects and assignments! I have missed 2 weeks of Finance homework already...ya all because of the problem of not having the textbook. To think that I am blaming my inadequacies using the money excuse again. How pretentious I am!
However, there are many great memories of school this week too. The Biz Law presentation was finally finished, and I really have to take my hat off to Eugene, Robin and Weijian. They are really very efficient man. And from BGS I have made such good friends with Zhenchang, Cindy, Cheri and Salinah... I hope for other groups I will enjoy such a good rapport with them too.
Yesterday was Hari Raya Haji. What did I do? I played mahjong with Kevin, Jinki and Junbin(jinki's blood bro) for a record breaking 3 rounds and ended up cooking, washing, eating, and sleeping at Jinki's home. Another day spent at others' home. I am so thankful for the kind hosting by his parents and siblings...I had really enjoyed myself, be it observing the dog Lucky, be it listening to Aunt Jessie's endless cooking lessons....I wonder how can I ever repay the kindness! And to think that I won so big at the mahjong (1 win 3)...even discounting their losses didn't help making me feel better...
Okie, the football match is starting. Let's watch now!
Lastly, will like to dedicate a chinese poem to Weijian for being such a great buddy in the new year. (inspired by Zhuge Liang in last night's Romance of the 3 Kingdom, and by the way, who has a PS version of the game? Specifically, RTK 4 or RTK 10.) And the 7Seas, my other buddies, army, CHS, or wherever.. this is for you!

今寻知己 喜泪满面
肝胆相照 赴汤蹈火
不惜自我 为兄竭力!
Hope you guys understand!
