WOooooooooo!
It has been a great weekend. Met lotsa old friends from the army, partied at a birthday party, and Jinki is back from Austrailia.
Oh well, I didn't study for the exams, though I did flip open the FA textbook and Stats textbook to read a few paragraphs.. anyway that's not important.
The important thing is all the good friends are back and I am on a roll!
Some lousy moments were around though, like being overconfident and losing the WE tournament when I should had won easily, losing mahjong ($8) when I should had lost less, and having eaten only one meal on Sunday.
Let's talk about Chris' party on Sat. I was there from 3.30pm, met Justin and Marcus who were the earliest, play some games, then the guys came and we were ready to begin eating from 6pm onwards. Was eating, drinking (Yeo's drinks and one little glass of red wine) and talking to the guys from camp. Some people changed alot, like Marcus (din see him for 10mths), while some are still the same, like the whacky combo of Justin and RS. Oh well, some things never change. We had a great time until the match started and it was quite tense as there were so many punters, some with opposing views. Chris' tips were right again and we managed to win some money, although I ended with a negative balance as I tried to pull stunts. I guess you really need a cool head to be a good punter. A friend of Chris called Haojie won big big money from Pools and the bookie as he hit the jackpot and won $900+ for the various matches, from Man U beating Charlton by more than 1.5 goals to Bolton drawing with Chelsea. He even won the mahjong game with a big win, bankrupting Chris! He also won the tournament although he was my first tournament. I picked Japan while he picked Holland. Unfortunately, the Japanese strikers left their shooting boots home and he was VERY LUCKY throughout the whole night, winning everything he needed to win, and of course I was beaten 2-0. The only thing he lost that night was a 3-2 lost to my Monaco Master League team (I was unbeaten when I used this team, so I regretted not using it for the tournament..sigh) when I rechallenged him after he won the tournament beating RS. After all the playing we left at 4.30am.
However, the party hadn't ended! It was soccer time in the morning and I was ready to do some exercising for the week... Originally slated to be the street soccer court near my home, Chris changed his mind as he had more friends who could play together at the field near Junhao's place. We then proceeded there and played till 12.30am in the hot hot sun. It was cool though. I managed to grab one goal despite having very very low successful passing rates or tackling rates. It was the final goal of the game as we were very tired with the dragging on and on by the losing team for they wanted to overturn it...oh well, i am always on for a challenge.
After the soccer game, I bidded Chris goodbye, forgetting that he didn't like to see my brother. It's a case of 2 prodigies not comfortable with each other.. hmm.. anyway i am sure he had a great time and I did my job well spending the whole weekend with him despite having exams the coming week. I hope my efforts are not wasted!
The other thing was Jinki's return. I rushed to the airport without knowledge that he had already arrived and was on his way back. Luckily I called him and then I sped to his home to see him. He brought a Japanese friend back! Oh cool, really cool. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to try out my Japanese with the girl as I wanted to talk to my dear brother. Explained to him why nobody could come and receive him (anyway he told everyone not to go and receive him for it was late) and then we proceeded to talk about school and school life on his swinging bench. Spent like 2 hours there from 11+ to 1+ (no problem to me since I was driving.)
Got a shock when I reached home. Nothing serious, just the soccer game showed Birmingham leading 3-1 at Blackburn's home.... Went on to check the computer and stuff, voila, it was 3-3 on 63min~ I watched the match from then onwards and had a bad scare when Paul Dickov was put through 1 on 1 in the final extra minute of added time...PHEW. The game ended in a draw and I guess most of us got some money again.
A great great weekend. However it's time to show that I can play hard and work hard as well, so I'm gonna be working slightly harder than now for the next 2 - 3 days to see off the exams... I have no targets for the exams except that I am avoiding any Cs scores.
I hope the roll continues as I try to save up to repay debts and get myself a new toaster for the kitchen..heh. And not to forget all the presents I need to get for the birthday parties....such expenses account for nearly 20% of my monthly allowance! So dun blame me if you dun get a cool present for my monthly allowance is only 3 digit and starts with a 3, with fixed expenses at 3 digit too beginning with a 2.
Have a good holiday and see you next week. Byebye~
